We have found 'the One'! Remember in our last post I was sharing some of our favorite counter stools for our new kitchen island? Well we have decided on the one we like best and that is within our shrinking budget. Enter Crate and Barrel Spin Stools. Applause.
I loved these at first sight. They have the clean modern look I love while still having the industrial feel that Devin loves since they are made of Aluminum. These stools are actually the Miller Stool distributed by EuroStyle "replicas". The real deal can retail for $175-$225, but at Crate and Barrel you can get the replica for $84 on sale. Now we're talking! The final decision was ultimately made when I found an ad on Craigslist for two of these gems for $75 each. Done and Done, then we only have to buy one new.
As an extra super bonus, when I got there, they agreed to $100 for the two. Blamo! There is another $50 saved! I couldn't be more pleased with how they look and feel. It is so lovely to sit at our new island comfortably now. The old IKEA stools we had for the bar that previously lived in our kitchen were just not cutting it anymore.
See how much lower the counter height stools are? That bar stool was not allowing any wiggle room for my thunder thighs! These are so much better. I love the way the aluminum looks against the black and brings out the grays in the backsplash tile.
And speaking of backsplash tile, I have yet to grout. That is on my to do list for the weekend. That small blue bottle on the right end of the island is actually stone sealer that I need to apply to the marble tiles that are in the backsplash before I grout. One step at a time I guess.
Next week I promise a nice tasty post on the evolution of our kitchen. It is going to be a super duper treat.
