I have boasted about how fabulous I believe the Habitat for Humanity Restore is in my handle post, and this is yet another gleaming example for why. I purchased two of these bad boys at the Restore. Just the lamp bases, not the shade. I had this drum shade.
Remember how I said I was looking for a lamp for my newly hacked sofa table post. Well this is it.
But the unfortunate part was the color. Don't get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with chocolate brown. It would have been great to put the brown lamps as is in a room that needed chocolate brown accents. We just don't have one of those rooms. Enter, spray paint. Krylon gloss spray paint in Pumpkin to be exact, and Krylon spray primer. Here it is ready to be painted. Don't mind Roxie's body relaxin' in the back ground. She was my help!
I sprayed a couple of coats of primer on this baby to encourage the spray paint to stick a little better.
It took about 5 coats of spray paint (each coat sprayed very thin) to get me to this!
TA DA! I just love her new hue. Super cute! Stay tuned for the full view of the room and see why I went with orange.
